|
Text: | Matthew 21:1-11; Psalm 118:19-29
|
Summary: | Approaching Jerusalem, Jesus sent two disciples to Bethphage where they would find a donkey and colt tied. He asked them to bring them to Him; this fulfilled the prophecy that Jesus would ride into Jerusalem on a colt. As Jesus rode into the city, people placed their cloaks and tree branches on the road. They shouted, “Hosanna” and “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” Everyone asked who this man was, and the crowds answered it was Jesus, the prophet of Nazareth. The passage from Psalms is what the crowds shouted to Jesus when He entered Jerusalem. It also describes people praising with “boughs in hand.”
